The month of November is coming to an end, meaning we get to reflect on 10 of our favorite Android apps to hit the Play Store during the month. Without further ado, let’s get started.
The first app we have for you today is in the form of a launcher. The launcher’s name is Microsoft Launcher and it was formerly known as the Aero Launcher. It’s been around for a little while now but it did get a big update. You can personalize the launcher by changing the theme colors, wallpapers or icon packs. A swipe to the right will reveal your calendar events, news, contacts, documents and more. Up top is a search bar that will deliver web results as well as local daily apps and contacts. Do note that it uses Bing as a search engine.
The app drawer lets you scroll through apps in an alphabetical order. Overall, it’s pretty plain Jane but if you like what you see, you should give it a whirl.
8Bit Photo Lab is a super fun app to have in your inventory, especially if you’re an avid Instagram user. This app will convert any picture on your phone or straight from your camera to retro 8-bit pixel art. You choose a photo, scroll through a selection of 8-bit filters, and review the vintage effect. It’s that simple.
Ahead! is a very challenging game that will test your reflexes. You have to swing an axe and let it twirl to collect as many points as you can. But every time you collect a point, it turns faster and faster. You can’t go beyond the arena or touch the sharp walls otherwise it will blow up. Give this app a shot if you need a challenge. It’s really hard.
Spyglass is a must-have app if you’re an adventurer. It offers an offline compass, GPS navigator, speedometer, waypoint tracker, basically everything you need to not get lost outdoors. What’s cool is that you don’t need internet for this functionalities to work.
DigiLux is an app that you will only find on Android. It lets you set up swiping gestures on your fingerprint sensor to control your brightness. We’ve seen similar apps but I think it’s a really smart idea to swipe the fingerprint sensor to adjust the brightness.
After you give the app some permissions, it will start working.
Icon Pack Mixer is going to appeal to those of you who loves to customize your phone to an insane degree. This app will let you mix icon packs. Maybe you like the look of some icons but not all of them, you can mix and match icons from different icon packs. The app can be a little bit buggy but when it works, it’s really great to have.
Typing Challenge is like Mavis Beacon for your smartphone. It will determine just how fast a mobile typer you are. The app provides the paragraph you need to type. There’s a time counter of 60 seconds. You need to type as many words as possible within the 60 second time limit and the score is in words per minute. So give this app a shot and let me know what your typing speed is in the comments down below. Mine is like 30 wpm without cheating.
NavBar Animations lets you customize and enhance your phone’s navigation bar without having to root or install a separate application. The app will offer customizations that will have some new pizzazz to your boring old nav bar. There’s a bunch of different animations to choose from, some are conservative, others are liberal in their use of colors.
Notification History Log lets you view the notifications that you have swiped away. So sometimes you swipe a notification away by accident. What that app was, I don’t know, it’s gone. There’s no way to know. Well, this app will help you keep track of whatever it was in your notifications so you won’t have to miss a message again.
The last app we have for you today is called INK: Endless Ascends. It’s a simple but addicting game. You have to guide an ink droplet along the infinite skyscraper to reach out to the sun. But you have to avoid the spikes by tapping on the screen. If you collect more ink droplets, you become larger and invincible for a short period of time.
With that last one, those are 10 of our favorite Android apps to hit the Play Store during the month of November 2017.
