The latest addition, the Samsung Gem, is a fantastic option for first-time smartphone buyers or those looking to migrate over from competing platforms like BlackBerry or Windows Mobile. It's sporting an 800 MHz processor, 3.2-inch display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and a stock build of Android 2.2.
It's no match to US Cellular's high-end Android phones like the HTC Desire or Samsung Mesmerize, but it's a decent little smartphone that should appeal to a lot of people, and the $29.99 price tag can't hurt.
