While covering the Apple iPad Pro, we've been quietly testing the Surface 3 from Microsoft. Although there is a lot to love about the iPad Pro, the price point and restricted mobile operating system limits its functionality. The Surface 3 runs a full version of Windows 10 and can be equipped with a well-designed Type Cover to essentially turn the tablet into a fully-functional laptop.
The Surface 3 also features a full-size USB port, a Mini DisplayPort, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. If you want to always remain connected while on the go, you may want to look into the Surface 3 LTE from AT&T, which starts at about $600. The WiFi-only variant price starts at about $500.
AT&T is offering the Surface 3 LTE for $200 off until the end of the year which brings the total price down to $399. With a 2-year contract, the price of the Surface 3 LTE is $499.99 and if you bundle the Surface 3 LTE with a smartphone on AT&T Next, you will receive an additional $100 off.
