We've waited, waited, and waited some more, and roughly seven months after the international announcement, Samsung's Galaxy S II series has arrived in the States. Coming on October 2nd, AT&T's version is the Galaxy S II, and it offers a 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display (480x800 pixels), 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, a front-facing camera for video calling (and the occasional self portrait), and Android 2.3.4 with Samsung's TouchWiz 4.0. It's top-notch in every spec category, much like the HTC EVO 4G was when it launched last year.
Yes, it's the must-have Android device, but it's coming out right before the announcement of the next iPhone. Can it get enough of a following (and fast) to gain some traction in the US mobile market? Part 2 of 2.
