A lot of you guys already know that Apple Pay just went live this Monday with iOS 8.1 on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. But that update did not only affect the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. While it is a little bit easier to use it on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus thanks to the built-in NFC chip, you can use it on other products like iPads and iPod Touches. So since we have our hands on the iPad Air 2, I thought I would give you a quick demonstration of how Apple Pay works not at the store but actually online shopping.

So this is really simple to use. You basically just go into your settings, you set up Apple Pay and add all your information, your credit card information, shipping address, and all that stuff. And then when you go into an application like the Apple Store, you can actually just use the Apple Pay button to check out. So here I’m actually buying an iPad Air 2 smartcase for my iPad Air 2 because I haven’t bought one yet. And instead of going through all the sign-in processes and adding all the shipping details, customer details, I hit that little black button here. I used Force Touch ID and boom, it’s done. I bought that $79 case. I hope I don’t get double charged because that’s been a bug that’s been talked about but hopefully, I won’t get double charged on my credit card and that’s about it.

That’s Apple Pay—it’s super simple. Though on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with NFC, that means you can actually use it in store with Apple Pay stores. And it’s also available in other iOS devices that support iOS 8.1 including the iPads, the iPod touches, and all last generation iPhones.
