It's no iPhone 5, but the Apple iPad 3 launch announcement was anticipated by many. Except Apple's not calling it the iPad 3. They're calling it "the new iPad." Featuring an Apple A5X CPU with quad-core graphics, the new iPad features a 9.7-inch Retina Display with 2048x1536 pixels, a 5-megpixel iSight camera with 1080p HD video recording, a FaceTime front camera, and 4G LTE connectivity on Verizon and AT&T. Pricing and storage remains unchanged.
Much like the iPhone 4S, the new iPad is an evolutionary bump from the iPad 2, with some minor upgrades in the feature department. Can it hold the iPad brand in the number one spot for another year? Time will tell.
