The iPod Touch (6th Gen) is the most recent iPod Touch to hit the market. In a world dominated by smartphones, specifically the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus, I didn’t really expect Apple to refresh the iPod lineup. But they did. And we have the iPod Touch (6th Gen). In this video, I’m going to give you 8 reasons why you should buy the iPod Touch (6th Gen) to ultimately help aid you in your buying decision. After you watch this video, be sure to watch the second part in this video series where I give you 5 reasons why you should not buy the new iPod Touch.
The new iPod Touch 6G features several new improvements and features that weren’t found in the previous version, that being the iPod Touch (5th Gen). Starting with the basics, the new iPod Touch now has five new color configurations: Space Gray, Blue, Gold, Pink and Silver. For the first time in Apple history, you can now buy a gold iPod; which is the version I (of course) decided to go with so that’s pretty cool.
But most of the changes take place internally. So we now have a fresh, new A8 chip which is the same processor and the same chip found in the iPhone 6. It’s built on a 64-bit architecture and features GPU performance up to 10 times faster than the previous generation iPod Touch. Well, if you’re a gamer and you plan on gaming on the new Touch, you’re definitely going to be impressed. Games will run flawlessly and the graphics are going to be much more responsive and look a lot more vivid than ever before.
There’s also an improved iSight camera on the back. I actually remember when the first iPod Touch debuted with the camera sensor for the very first time and things have come a long way since then. The new 8MP iSight camera features an f2.4 aperture. While it’s not as specked out as the iPhone 6 camera, it’s actually very similar and can produce some very pleasing results as you can see right here. The FaceTime HD camera is also improved and can capture 1.2MP photos and has an f2.2 aperture and it can capture 720p video. It’s not perfect but you’ll be able to Skype or FaceTime friends and family without any real issues at all.
One of the biggest selling points is that it comes pre-loaded with the newest iOS update, that being iOS 8.4 which actually features Apple Music. So you definitely get Apple Music in here. And what’s even cooler is that it will be upgradeable to iOS 9 in the fall when it’s officially released. But if you do want a preview or glimpse at iOS 9 before it’s officially released, you can also download the preview which is available now on Apple.com.
The new iPod Touch 6th Gen gives you that full iOS experience while only costing a fraction of the price of an iPhone 6 or an iPhone 6 Plus. It starts at $199 for the 16GB model but for the first time ever, you can actually buy an iPod Touch with 128GB of internal storage for a hefty $400. So if you’re a hoarder, you’ll be pleased to hear about these extra storage options.
You should also take into consideration the incredible build quality of this device. It’s well made with aluminum, glass and chamfered edges. It’s unbelievably thin at 6.1mm and it has a Retina 1136x640 resolution display with a 326ppi index that is not only bright but color accurate as well. All these features should be factored into your buying decision.
So there are eight reasons why you should buy the brand new iPod Touch 6th Gen. Chances are, you probably have one or two main reasons why you’re tempted to buy this device so whatever they are, be sure to let me know down below in a comment.
