The good: Just like every other phone I used. Thank god, because there is no user guide to find out how to use the extras
The bad: User guide. What user guide?
Try to download it on your computer when your sitting in a park or the backyard or a shopping centre. Print it out and waste a ream of A4 paper (not environmentally friendly). Try to get a user manual and be charged $15 AUD after paying $1000AUD for the phone. Useless without a user manual.
Summary: I've had my phone now for 6 months and still have not a clue how to use it. If I need to know something I want to reach for the User guide, not turn on the computer go to the internet or CD Rom scroll through 500 pages.
What a waste of time this phone is.
The good: I love this phone. I have sent several pictures to my wife 2000 miles away. I am consulting for the year in Florida and only have the Samsung Sync as my one and only phone. Very user friendly and comfortable in your pocket.
The bad: I wish there was a zoom on the camera.
Summary: I would recommend this phone to anyone who is seeking a versatile phone that is very user friendly. It has been very reliable and does everything I wanted in a phone
The good: No contracts, no penalties, no monthly bills, no roaming, Minutes do not expire each month, voicemail notification of messages received is almost always nearly instantaneous, signal strength is very good due to Tracfone's contracts with various carriers. If you invest in the annual plan and one time double minutes programs, cost of use is very reasonable, especially during "prime time" and to other countries (no extra cost). My wife and I have been customers for years and Tracfone's customer s
The bad: It can be difficult and time consuming to get your existing phone number ported over to a new phone.
Summary: I recommend Tracfone for most people who don't use a cell phone a lot and if they don't need a "high end"/ fancy phone.
The good: Small, cute color, good for first time cell phone users
The bad: The phone can not keep up with me. Texting, calling, etc is so hard because the phone is so slow!
Summary: The phone is VERY slow!! It cant keep up with text messaging. It keeps certain display windows up to long. It is a great starter phone for your teen, not for anyone else!!
for a very low price, this phone provides a lot of nice features such as a decent camera, good service, and easy-to-navigate menus. it's great for people who find "frilly" features like v-cast and mp3s unnecessary and just want a phone they can talk, message, and take pictures on. it also has useful shortcuts that you can set yourself (i guess the last person to review this phone didn't keep it long enough to figure that out). i just got it and i'm already used to it.
The good: great for the text-a-holics, can edit photos on the phone, camera features are awesome like the timer and flashes automatically...
The bad: where do i start? battery talk time, freezes up like it's crashing, can't talk when charging.
Summary: (1st one 8 months, 2nd only 11 days, 3rd and current one is only 9 days old) 1 month ago i would've said that i love it and wouldn't trade it for the world... was charging the 1st one and both screens went black..couldn't text of course or see my phonebook, incoming calls or surf the web... replaced it with another and 11 days later the replacement restarted on it's own and wiped out my entire phonebook along with pics and any other apps i had on it...i'm on my third and it freezes on a daily basis when trying to view or send pic text and restarts on it's own...the 1st phone did the same but not enough to bug me like this one...the first one also had a problem with the outside 7,8, and 9 keys..wasn't a prob since i use the QWERTY 99.9% of the time but when i took the first one back, evidently there was a 7, 8, 9 key issue with a lot of other ppls strobes...my phone is my baby so with all phones i've had, i take very good care of them...battery talk time is 3 hours unless you purchase the 6 hour extended battery...loved the camera features and that i can record something and save it and assign it as a ringtone instead of paying for crappy ringtones...i'm now impatiently waiting for the new samsung as i am very frustrated with my strobe and can't wait to get rid of it...
The good: EVDO makes downloading a snap on my laptop
Great camera and video capabilities
TV and Movies are fun
Closed phone camera operation
Large screen
Thin and light
The bad: The battery life freakin blows
Lacks memory
Summary: Well, i bought the phone about a year and half ago. It was great and lots of fun to start off with. First thing that i noticed is the extremely low battery life. It would not even last a day. Big change from my other samsung which lasted a good week standby. That aside another thing that comes short is the lack of memory. Take some pics and video and put 5 songs on there and you're out of memory. Guess thats why they made the web album. This phone has been bashed and landed on so many times yet the inside screen lacks even a scratch. The phone was a little hard to get used to in the begging but eventually got used to. Ive watched a couple movies on the phone which work really nice, even though they are not full screen. It is really nice to use as a modem with a laptop since you get blazing speeds with EVDO. Im not sure about the live TV. The games on it are rather nice especially the full 3D motorbike one. Overall, a great phone. Too bad it went through the wash one too many times. Looking forward to an HTC touch XD
The good: excellent phone easy to use never had any problems.will keep this phone till it no longer works i love this phone
The bad: no external antenna although hasn't really been neede
Summary: Awsome phone, easy to use great features looks good sounds good very reliable cant believe they discontinued this phone.gets great reception no matter where i use it couldnt ask for a better phone samsung got it right on this one
The good: easy fast texting, great picture capabilities, slim design, sometimes I forget I have it in my pocket, variety of colors, quick charging, long lasting battery, MP3 player (my favorite CD's go with me whereever I go) easy navigation (I only read the manual to find out how to download MP3's on it)
The bad: Ringers aren't loud enough (I wouldn't use the alarm clock to save my life)... and there is no flash on the camera (but I've taken pictures in even the darkest places with the night mode and can still see everything...)
Summary: I've been through about twenty cell phones in the past 10 years, I'm usually reckless with them. I've lost them to leaving them on the roof of cars, drowning them in the toilet, I've snapped the head off of one of my flip phones, just plain loosing them. My LG VX-8600 will never be a victim to any of these unfortunate events... I could be drowning at sea somewhere and I would be treading water with one hand and holding my phone up to save it from the water with the other... I'm serious. I've had it for about five months now. It is recently showing signs of wear and tear, but it's only left my side maybe twice in those months. I fell asleep with the MP3 player going once for about 7 hours and when I woke up not only was it still playing but it had over half the battery power left. It holds up to 100 texts in the inbox, for those of us who don't like to delete, and I have over 70 songs downloaded onto my SD card, so 70 of my favorite songs are with me at all times. I've watched TV on it, the visual is great. I am on my yahoo messenger on it. And if that's not enough proof that this is a great phone, I usually don't do product reviews for anything, but I stumbled accross this page, looking for an icon guide to find out what my son turned on and had to fill this out. This phone will be cherished!!! Hey never mind about that... I just found the icon guide on the phone... now I really don't have to find that manual!!! Yippeee!!
The good: Handy favorites menu, On Demand feature, GREAT media player!!! Bluetooth, fast streaming video, okay music player, AMAZING internet browser, compact - literally loaded with features!
The bad: The battery life is maddeningly lame. For a phone with such deep toys inside it, the power supply should be able to handle a few hours of playing without going dead so easily. Also, the camera is just average despite all the hype about pixel this and pixel that.
Summary: This is probably the coolest phone I've ever seen. As long as you pony up the extra fifteen bucks for Power Vision service, you have an endless array of cool things at your disposal. That extra dough is a lot to swallow and I wouldn't do it if my job didn't discount my service by exactly $15 dollars. Free applications abound! Gmail, Google Maps, On Demand service, easy to use applications - this thing has it all! The vibrant screen is the best on the market, easily customizable. I can't rave about this thing enough. It would be perfect if I didn't have to worry about losing power before the day ends. But there's so much to do on this thing that I just can't help myself. My favorite features are Sprint Radio(at no extra charge), Gmail and the lightning fast browser.
The good: Good price value, for individual and family plans, and solid service on all the basics.
The bad: Few cutting-edge options, one major issue with customer service.
Summary: My teenage daughter was using a prepaid phone, but once she hit high school, I realized I was paying $30 a month with very careful usage keeping it "Topped Up." For the same $30 added to my plan, she got unlimited MyFave minutes to the five numbers she calls most (I'm not one of them), plus unlimited weekends and nights, plus she and I split 700 "Anytime" minutes, all for a totall of $69.99 (I get my own five MyFave numbers). Calls within the carrier are not free, as with some services.

I did a lot of research before signing up. Other carriers were better for business use or for people who call a lot of different people (though T-Mobile wasn't bad), but T-Mobile was best for my type of usage, which I think is pretty basic. My cell phone is my home phone, but I don't use it for business, so most of my calls are to a handful of people, or else on weekends. Same with my daughter.

Now, their shortcomings. Their phones aren't really exciting. They have a few nice ones, and a lot of basic, mundane ones. You can get a great phone from them, but you won't have a lot of great phones to choose from. They are good on music phones, and middle of the road phones, and low-end smart phones, and budget phones with a good variety of options. They don't have the coolest GPS or camera or video phones. Their services lag behind other carriers, too. They don't have the 3G wireless Internet system, so if you use the Internet on the phone, it will be a little slower. They don't have wireless music or video downloads. They aren't stone age, but they aren't breaking down barriers. This is frustrating for a tech-nut like me, but I've got enough other gadgets that I don't mind. For some, though--say, a business traveller that wants everything to work through one device--this might kill the deal.

Last, customer service. The few questions I've had get answered quickly. Emailed help is slower than average, but I've never spent much time on hold on the phone, and they do seem to know I'm the customer and not a servant. Recently I had a problem, though. The phone I got for my daughter was defective, so they told me to send it back, but they charged me for the replacement phone they sent, promising to credit the old phone within 30 days of them getting it. This was almost enough to make me cancel service, but I wasn't sure other carriers handled it better, so I calmed down and did it. Not happy with that, as my ratings reflect. This could be a problem for people on the edge of their budget.

Hope that helps someone. I'd recommend them as a family carrier, and for their prices, and for the solid service they provide. For travelers or people who want the latest options, or who want all their cutting-edge tech needs rolled into one, maybe another service would work better. Again, T-Mobile isn't pre-historic, and they aren't a no-frills service. They have Internet, and some cool phones. They just aren't the best at it.
The good: very nice stylish looking phone
has a camara built in
speaker phone
great features
The bad: speaker phone not loud enough
original battery doesn't last long
Summary: I like this phone very much, I considered it after doing some researching around for a monthly plan with a pre paid phone and I happen to come across virgin mobile. This phone is kool looking, camara, speaker phone, internet, its the best prepaid phone I like and consider as a great buy.
The good: Features are great and it looks pretty. Screen is bright and battery life is good.
The bad: Very Bad connection. Also people tell me i sound muffled or hear a echo. It is very slippery if you dont have a case.
Summary: Overall, get the phone if you are in a area with great connection. If you aren't then consider buying a different phone. The other features and camera are clear.
The good: I LOVE Ntelos nationwide roaming plan, even though I stay in my area a lot. My phone gets a signal from the closest tower, and my reception rocks! In the underwater tunnel, out in the boondocks, wherever I go!
The bad: Not as cheap as the regular Ntelos plan, but worth the difference.
Summary: Can you hear me now? YES! - Okay, not in Home Depot, but the reception on the no roaming plan is amazing.
The good: Circle of friends
The bad: So far none.
Summary: I travel from Ga. to Oh. and have pretty good service. We live in a rural area and even have service in our basement. All carriers have bad and good areas, and Alltel works best for our family.
The good: Very functional if you know where your options are in the menus. Holds signal better than my razor did. Has a remote control function. Not a bad phone once you get used to it and learn the functions. Batteries charge quickly. Windows based helps the learning a little.
The bad: Menus very poorly organized. larger than normal learning curve. Not many accessories available. USB cord does not charge unless you plug the home charger into the side of the cord, should charge from USB port instead. poor battery life if you actually use it frequently, but comes with 2 of them. Remote function has VERY limited amount of devices. Don't come with a cig cord and should for the price. confusing to complete any tasks. Charge port cover not attached to phone and falls off.
Summary: While I do like the phone a lot the difficult menus make it unpleasant to operate the phone for any little task other than making a call. I like the options it has once I find them and it has lots of features. It drops calls much less in areas my previous phone did on the same service. I do like the external antenna for the fringe areas up in northern Michigan, an option many phones have rid themselves of at some signal expense while out in the country. Audio is good for a phone while playing mp3's or using the speaker phone. Seems to work well with the bluetooth headset option.
The good: Fun items (can change color/font of numbers/lettters)...nice to have 2.0 megapix.
The bad: Quiet...cannot hear this phone (especially incoming call alerts.) To get to the memory card you have to take out the battery.
Summary: We sent this phone back...I really liked a bunch about it but, we simply could not hear it. Its vibration is also weak! Who wants a phone you can't hear to answer. I am happy to go back to my Samsung a950, although I will miss the better pictures and slimmer design.
The good: Cheaper alternative to sign up plans.
Ease of use
The bad: None
Summary: I have nothing but praise for this phone. I have had it for over 2 years and purchased it after lengthy research of all the plans available to me. After looking over the Post-paid and Pre-paid plans I chose this for the best "Bang for The Buck". I have only dropped 1 call the entire time( over 2 years) I have had the service and when others cannot receive a signal my Nokia 1100 is kicking butt.

I have no Idea why the previous posts have had problems, but I simply activated my phone according to the directions and also smoothly add airtime each month; It cannot be more simple.

Customer service is more than adequate, much better than some of the service that you receive at some brick and mortar stores. The only problem, yet small, is that since the call center is located in south FLA I sometimes have a problem with their English, but the people always try and help as best they can.

I am so happy with the service that I am getting my wife one for Christmas.
The good: Cheap to buy minutes
The bad: Minutes go fast
Summary: I have been using tracfone and buying and reloading the phone is easy, You can even buy the minutes straight from your phone which makes it convienant if you don't want to shop online or get out to buy them. I have never had a problem receiving my airtime or bonus air time. I just wish the minutes didn't go so fast, or maybe I just talk to much. :| but at any rate it is a great company for a pay as you go.
The good: Great phone
The bad: Bulky
Summary: I have this phone and it's really a very nice phone for around 50 bucks, it has a camera which is always nice, I get great reception on it and it has speaker phone option which is good too. The only draw back I can see is it's bulkyness
