I?ve been using the international version of the Galaxy Note since December. While it?s easily my favorite phone of all time, the Galaxy Note does have some pros and cons.
>> Pros of the Samsung Galaxy Note <<
Its large screen makes it a virtual tablet replacement. It?s great for web browsing on the go. The Galaxy Note also makes for a great e-book reader.
The display is beautiful and bright. I enjoy watching movies on this device as well as Youtube videos.
The extra screen real estate makes typing on the device a breeze. I can type in either portrait or landscape.
The phone performs extremely well. This phone is not only fast but its big battery lasts all day into the next day.
It includes an S-pen which can be used for hand written notes and for drawing.
I find the camera works pretty well. I am pretty impressed with its photo and video recording capabilities.
Unlike the iPad, any Android Tablet, Kindle Fire, or any other tech gadget you have, the Galaxy Note goes everywhere you go. Since it?s your phone, you are more likely not to leave it at home.
>> Cons of the Samsung Galaxy Note <<
Some will find that the Galaxy Note is not pocket-able. I purchased a case from eBay but I don?t use it since it takes too much effort to pull the device out of it.
Using the device with one hand will be tough for many. I can do it easily so it?s definitely possible.
It doesn?t have a notification LED. After owning Blackberries for years, this is one (missing) feature that I always look for.
Like all Android devices, you won?t get an iTunes-like experience when you connect your Galaxy Note to your desktop.
While you might not mind having a big phone, you may receive unfriendly comments from friends, family, coworkers, clients, or passers-by. Just this past weekend I heard someone saying from a distance, ?Look at his phone. It?s ginormous * laughing *?. This can be a big problem if you need to be image conscious.
>> Conclusion <<
While I love, love, love this phone, it's not for everybody. I encourage everyone to at least test drive this device. If you do, I'm sure you will get hooked too!
It's got almost everything I need for smartphone for next year and half. Good design (White color :) ), good call quality, huge beautiful screen, s-pen, you name it, it has it. Highly recommended!
Everything about this phone is amazing!! i love it! its everything i've ever wanted
This is a great phone for everything. I love it sooooooo much. At first i had a windows phone, but there was a problem with it so i had to return it (the marketplace didnt work plus i just didnt like it). At the AT&T store, it was between the atrix 4g and this phone. running out of time becuase i was busy, i just randomly picked the inspire 4g. and from that moment on, i love it!!!!!!!!!
other than the battery life its a really great phone i love it.
I have had 8 Android phone in my life. the OG droid, the charge, Droid x2, Droid 2, Droid 3, Bionic, Droid 4, and the Droid Razr. Yes, I'm a cellphone junkie. The Razr has everthing I have ever needed in a smart phone. It's fast, it has a great camera, it never lags, the on screen keyboard is awesome. The battery life is pretty good for me and my day. I have a car charger and a portable battery pack. This phone just DOES!! And it's very nice looking.
i love the phone it works great and now with ics roms it is very smooth.
The Super AMOLED Plus display is very beautiful,Though it isn't an Exynos processor it still performs well with it's Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 chip. Battery life is decent and great if you set the phone up nicely.
this phone is great, the data speeds are unbelievable, ofcourse the battery sucks, but good battery is hard to find with android. processor is blazing fast and really great screen for gaming and videos. Last but not least, best camera software on a phone ever, so many features and options. shutter speed only 0.7 seconds and great videos
THE ULTIMATE messaging/media/organizing device!!!
This is the best phone till date. Screen is awesome. Its fast. Battery life is great. LED notification. Swype.
I've had this phone phone for a little over a month now and the only thing I wasn't happy about was its 8gb of storage which you really only get around 5 of. Aside from that I enjoy the phone thoroughly the screen is better than the first Atrix because it has a larger 4.3 to 4 inch screen and there is no pentile matrix so it has less distinguishable pixels. The 1ghz dual-core processor is fast and has absolutely no lag. Although its scores on the benchmark tests like quadrant and antutu you won't have any problem with it. Also if you're worried about your first smartphone and you can't decide because they seem so complicated, get this. this was my first smartphone then I switched to the galaxy sii (also att) but went back to this in a week. It has a very simmple to use interface for a first time user and a deep level of professionalization for those who are against ios and wp7 for that. Also if you root the device like me you can do even more. I'd recommend this device to anyone on att for all the amazing capabilities and only $100. Maybe less by the time you read this.
I had this phone for awhile and it was an ok camera, a small screen, but the thing i loved about it was the battery life it was truly amazing
I love the call quality and the screen is a decent size but what i dont like about it is the battery life, it seemed everything i did on it killed the battery
I've had this phone for less then a month and i'e already fell in love with it, it's by far the best phone i have ever used and for the price you pay for it is an amazing phone
After months of agonizing that none of the new phones had all the features I was looking for the Galaxy Note arrived and rescued me. I didn't want to buy something without an HD display (rules out Galaxy S2), Didn't want anything without expandable memory and a great camera since I don't carry any other camera (rules out the Galaxy Nexus), wanted decent battery life (rules out the Rezound), wanted something with a big screen, all the features for the year such as NFC, & LTE to avoid upgrading for a while (rules out iPhone 4S), and wanted to keep using the apps I use (ruled out WP).
As I see it the Galaxy Note has it all plus a pen. These days I just can't fathom buying year old technology in such a fast moving market as smart phones and with the Galaxy Note you've got something solid that will have all the features of the coming year except some minor camera tweaks and quad core (dual is working well anyway) in a phone you can get today. Yes, ICS would be nice but it will be here soon enough and Touchwiz has some appeals over and above basic Android (such as playing well with Facebook). To me there's no other choice but the Note.
HD Screen, S Pen and size just to name a few of the exceptionally well thought out qualities of the Note.
