There's been some back and forth about whether or not Samsung's next smartwatch will run Google's Wear OS rather than Samsung's Tizen, and now another report on the matter has come out.
Samsung's next smartwatch will be known as Galaxy Watch, not Gear S4 as many have expected. That's according to frequent Samsung leaker Ice Universe, who adds that the Galaxy Watch will run Wear OS rather than Tizen like previous Gear smartwatches.
Other details on the Galaxy Watch include a "new UX interaction", PLP package, and the ability to measure blood pressure. The Galaxy Watch will reportedly include a 470mAh battery, up from the 380mAh battery found in the Gear S3.
While still unconfirmed, the "Galaxy Watch" branding would make sense for a new Samsung smartwatch. Galaxy is a major brand name in the mobile space, and so the name Galaxy Watch would help people more quickly understand that this is a Samsung device and associate it with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note family of devices.
