The Galaxy Note 9 may be one month away, but some people are already looking ahead to Samsung's 2019 flagship smartphone.
New reports have shed some light on the features of the Samsung Galaxy S10. It's rumored that the device, which is reportedly codenamed "Beyond", will have three models. In recent years we've seen Samsung offer two S flagships, so moving to three S models would be a big deal.
According to reports from AllAboutSamsung and Ice Universe, the models codenamed Beyond0 and Beyond1 will have dual rear camera setups while the Beyond2 will have a triple rear camera setup. Presumably the Beyond2 is the S10+ model and the Beyond1 is the standard S10. It's possible that Beyond0 could be a more affordable S10 variant.
As for the cameras themselves, it's said that the Beyond2's triple camera setup will include a main 12MP camera with variable f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture, a super wide angle (123-degree) camera, and a 13MP zoom camera. It's rumored that the Beyond1 and Beyond0 could include the 12MP variable aperture camera and the super wide angle sensor.
It's also rumored that the Beyond2 and Beyond1 models will have in-display fingerprint readers. That's according to leaker Ice Universe, who claims that the Beyond0 will use a side fingerprint reader, which could back up the theory that it'll be a more affordable S10 variant.
Samsung has used its Galaxy S+ models to offer higher-end specs, so if the company wants to try a phone with three rear cameras, it makes sense that the Plus model would get them. Opting to then give the S10 and whatever more affordable model is coming dual rear cameras could make those devices better upgrades from the S9. Plus, having an S10 with one rear camera while an S10+ has three could make the regular S10 look like a big step down, so giving the S10 dual rear cameras avoids that.
