Jonesing for more Google Pixel 2017 leaks? Good news, because that’s precisely what we’ve got for you today.
Images of what Google Pixel 2 have been shared by VentureBeat. With this leak, we’re getting a clear look at the front and rear of the smaller Pixel 2, which is reportedly being manufactured by HTC and is codenamed Walleye.
The back of this Pixel 2 has the same look as the larger Pixel XL 2, complete with a smaller back glass panel, redesigned camera lens with silver ring, and fingerprint reader below the glass. The front of the Pixel 2 is different from the Pixel XL 2, though, as it doesn’t have the super slim bezels that are expected to be included with the Pixel XL 2.
One notable feature that will be included with the Pixel 2 is a pair of front-facing speakers, something that we’ve seen from HTC phones in the past. Another feature that's making the jump from an HTC flagship to this Pixel 2 is the ability to squeeze the sides of the phone to perform actions, like Edge Sense on the HTC U11.
Unfortunately, there’s also one major feature that’s missing from Google’s next Pixel phones. Today’s report says that like several other recent flagships, Google’s new Pixel phones will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.
While it’s kind of disappointing that this new Pixel 2 may not feature the same super slim bezels that are rumored to be coming with the Pixel XL 2, the addition of front-facing speakers should make viewing videos and listening to audio a much more pleasant experience. Of course, there’s the downside of the missing 3.5mm headphone jack, which could be a deal breaker for some folks.
What do you think of this leaked Pixel 2? Is the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack a big deal to you?
