Are you ready for the LG to begin dropping teasers for its next flagship smartphone? Because it’s starting now.
LG today confirmed that its “next flagship smartphone” will feature a 6-inch 2880x1440 OLED display with curved edges. LG says that it’s shrunk this phone’s upper and lower bezels by 20 and 50 percent compared to the LG V20, and it’s also moved the LG logo from below the screen to the back to maximize screen space.
Other features of this flagship’s display is HDR10 support, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and technologies like advanced encapsulation and pixel-scanning to help fight burn-in.
LG isn’t naming the smartphone that’ll feature this 6-inch OLED display, but it’s very likely that the V30 is the phone that’s being teased. The news that LG is using an OLED display for the V30 is notable because the company’s recent flagships, the V20 and G6, use LCD panels. The 6-inch size is larger than those models, too, which is good news for folks that love big screens.
LG is hosting an event on August 31st, and it’s widely expected that the V30 will be announced there. Are you excited for the LG V30?
