After unofficially meeting the Nokia 8 earlier this month, we’ve now got a date on which HMD Global may officially introduce the world to its new Nokia flagship.
HMD is sending out invitations to an event in London on August 16th. The company hasn’t come out and announced what it plans to show, but it’s expected that the star of the event will be the Nokia 8, rumored to be a flagship Android smartphone.
A recent leak claimed to spill many of the details of the Nokia 8 ahead of its announcement. The device is rumored to include a 5.3-inch 2560x1440 display and dual 13-megapixel cameras with Carl Zeiss optics. Also said to be included is a Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
If those rumored specs hold true, then the Nokia 8 will indeed be a flagship-tier device. There’s no shortage of solid flagship Android phones available, though, so we’ll have to wait and see how the Nokia 8 plans on standing out from its competition, whether that’s on price, camera performance, or something else.
