One day after an image of what may be the LG G6 leaked out, another major detail of LG’s next Android flagship may have been revealed.
A new report claims that the LG G6 will come equipped with a Snapdragon 821 processor. Why not Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835, you ask? According to Forbes’ source, it’s because Samsung has claimed the first batch of SD 835 chips.
The source of this report also claims that the Galaxy S8 will launch in South Korea on April 14.
When Qualcomm first announced the Snapdragon 835, it said that it was collaborating with Samsung on the manufacturing of the chip, so that may have played a part in helping it to get first dibs on the SD 835.
If the LG G6 does have a Snapdragon 821 instead of an 835, it’ll likely be a disappointment for some folks and perhaps even a deal breaker for others, but the 821 is still a capable processor that’s inside phones like Google’s Pixel and the OnePlus 3T. So if you’re at all interested in the G6, it may not be a bad idea to actually handle one first before making a judgment on it based on the processor that’s inside it.
