The four biggest US carriers have halting sales of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 over the past couple of days, and now the fifth largest carrier has, too.
US Cellular has officially suspended sales of the Galaxy Note 7. Any US Cellular that owns a Note 7 and is concerned about their safety following reports of replacement Note 7s catching fire can swap their phone for any other device.
Here’s US Cellular’s full statement to us:
"Due to Samsung's most recent announcement regarding its investigation of an incident with a replacement Note7, and with the safety of our customers in mind, as of this morning U.S. Cellular has suspended sales of replacement Samsung Galaxy Note7 devices. While the investigation is underway, any U.S. Cellular customer who is concerned about the safety of their replacement Galaxy Note7 may exchange it for any other device at a U.S. Cellular store."
Now AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and Verizon have all halted Note 7 sales, and Best Buy has done the same. Despite these decisions and multiple reports of replacement Note 7s catching fire in the span of one week, Samsung hasn’t issued a second Note 7 recall. Instead, the company said today that it’s “temporarily adjusting the Galaxy Note 7 production schedule in order to take further steps to ensure quality and safety matters.”
