With its new Moto Z flagship, Motorola is expected to offer swappable back plate modules that’ll add features like speakers and a camera grip. It’s rumored that Moto Z owners will also be able to swap regular back plates that come in different colors and materials, and today images of those style mods have leaked.
HellomotoHK has posted some images of the Moto Z Style Mods, showing back plates that appear to come in leather, wood, and textured materials. We can also see that when these modules are attached to the back of the phone, the Moto Z’s rear camera is flush with the back of the phone.
Motorola has offered backs made of different materials for past Moto X flagships, including leather and wood, so it’s no surprise to see that that’ll be the case with the Moto Z, too. Because the Z will have swappable back plates, though, you’ll be able to pick up several back covers and swap them to fit your mood rather than being stuck with a single type of wood or leather.
Motorola has teased an announcement for June 9, so it’s possible that we could see the Moto Z and its swappable back plates made official then. Are you interested in Motorola’s next flagship Moto phone?
