After being confirmed in November and soak tested in recent months, the OnePlus 2’s Android 6.0.1 update has finally arrived.
OnePlus said today that it is now starting the Android 6.0.1 rollout for the OnePlus 2. The update, which will arrive as OxygenOS 3.0.2, will be done incrementally, meaning that it won’t hit every OnePlus 2 at once. The good news is that OnePlus expects the update to reach all OP2 units within 48 hours.
As for what’s included, there are a few goodies besides the bump to Android 6.0.1. OnePlus has thrown in better fingerprint sensor performance and recognition, a refreshed OnePlus Camera app UI and some autofocus optimization, and a SwiftKey update to version 6.3.3. Here’s what the full update changelog looks like:
We’ve known for a while now that the OnePlus 2 would be updated to Marshmallow, so it’s just been a question of when the update would actually start rolling out. Some OnePlus 2 owners are probably a bit flustered that the update took so long to arrive, but hey, at least it’s finally here. If you’ve got a OnePlus 2, keep an eye out for your taste of Marshmallow, which should arrive within the next couple of days.
