BlackBerry has been pushing its Android-powered Priv quite a bit lately, but if you’re still into BlackBerry 10, there’s a new deal that you may be interested in.
The BlackBerry Passport is now 20 percent off on the official BlackBerry store. That means that you can get the black or white versions of the Passport for $399.20 apiece, or you can buy the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition for $439.20. The Silver Edition differs from the regular Passport by offering a reinforced stainless steel frame for improved durability, an improved keyboard that offers ergonomic improvements that aims to make typing easier, and rounded corners and a textured back for a better in-hand feel.
One other thing worth noting is that all three of these Passport devices are GSM-only, so they won’t work on Verizon or Sprint. They support LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 13, 17, and 20.
BlackBerry 10 is a smaller player in the mobile marketplace, but the platform does have its loyal fans. Plus, it’s pretty much the only place to get a device like the Passport, which offers a large display and physical keyboard in a candybar form factor. While the Priv offers a big screen and keyboard, too, the Passport offers a form factor that’s more like the older BlackBerrys like the Bold and Curve than the Priv is.
BlackBerry doesn’t say how long this Passport sale will last, so if you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on a new Passport, you may want to act soon. To see the Passport in action before you buy, you can check out our video review.
