Next up on the list of OnePlus 2 spec list reveals? RAM.
OnePlus just announced that the OnePlus 2 will come with 4GB of RAM. In case you’re curious, the OnePlus 2’s RAM will be of the LPDDR4 variety, which OnePlus says will mean “faster loading times, smoother gameplay, and never-before-seen energy saving features.”
OnePlus went into deeper detail on the power consumption of the LPDDR4 RAM that it’s using. The company explains that it’s got the same power consumption as LPDDR3 RAM but with double the bandwidth performance. The LPDDR4 RAM also has a lower operating voltage than LPDDR3 — 1.1V compared to 1.2V — as well as speeds that are twice as fast.
To recap, to date OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 2 will have a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint reader, and support for reversible USB Type-C cables. The whole package will cost less than $450. So far the OnePlus 2 is shaping up to follow in the footsteps of the OnePlus One by being a high-end phone at an affordable price, but we’ll have to wait until we can actually see how the OnePlus 2 actually performs before making any judgments about it.
