One month after announcing the Idol 3 at MWC 2015, Alcatel OneTouch is announcing the pre-order plan for its new Android flagship.
The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 will be available for pre-order from Alcatel’s website starting on April 12 at a price of $249.99. Units are expected to begin shipping in May. The Idol 3 will eventually be available in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes, but the one that’s going up for pre-order on April 21 will be the 5.5-incher, which offers the following specs:
One of the unique features of the Idol 3 is that it’s got a fully reversible design. That means that whether you’re using the phone right side up or upside-down, the Idol 3 will adapt to ensure that you can actually use it.
At $249.99 without a contract, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 looks like a pretty respectable Android smartphone. Its combination of a large display and front-facing speakers could make it a nice mobile entertainment machine, and since the Idol 3 is compatible with both AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S., it could be worth a look for anyone that needs a new GSM phone that doesn’t require months (or years) of installment plans.
