Ever since HTC first announced its “utopia in progress” event for March 1, most folks have expected that that shindig will mark the debut of HTC’s new One flagship smartphone. Now HTC has straight-up confirmed that that’s the case.
HTC’s U.K. arm has revealed on Twitter that “the new HTC One” will be revealed on March 1, 2015. Unfortunately, no other details about the device were given.
Since HTC’s first One flagship is now known as the HTC One (M7) and its successor is the HTC One (M8), many expect the next model to be the HTC One M9. The rumor mill has suggested that the next One flagship will sport a 5-inch 1920x1080 display with slimmer BoomSound speakers and a 20.7-megapixel shooter on its backside.
It’s not known when the HTC One M9 might actually launch to consumers, but HTC began selling the One (M8) the same day that it was announced, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it wants a quick launch for the One M9 as well.
