If you’re looking to cut down on your cellular bill but still want to be connected, FreedomPop has an offer that you may want to look into.

FreedomPop today launched its nationwide Wi-Fi service that offers unlimited talk, text, and data for $5 per month. The service will include access to 10 million hotspots in the U.S. Stephen Stokols, FreedomPop CEO, says that the service will cover around 120 million people, with plans to increase the number of hotspots from 10 million to 25 million by the end of Q1 2015.

While FreedomPop isn’t saying which companies are providing the Wi-Fi, it did reveal that large retailers like McDonald’s, Starbucks, Burger King, and Best Buy will have access.

Users will be able to access FreedomPop’s Wi-Fi service through the company’s Android app and iPhone app, the latter of which will be released in the coming weeks. The app will automatically sign users on when a Wi-Fi network is nearby.

Wi-Fi is becoming more and more prevalent, and as it does, FreedomPop’s nationwide Wi-Fi offering could become more intriguing. While it might be tough to rely on it as your sole way of communication, it could be a way to drastically reduce your monthly cellphone bill.
