Oppo has been building hype for its new N1 smartphone in recent weeks, and today the company released its fifth teaser for the device that includes a hint at what may be a major aspect of its upcoming flagship.
CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondik makes an appearance in Oppo's new 20 second clip, revealing that he'll be in attendance at the N1 launch event in Beijing on Sept. 23. Kondik goes on to tease that there's some "exciting news ahead" before the video comes to end.
While we'll have to wait until Sept. 23 to find out exactly what Oppo and CyanogenMod have planned, it's possible that the two companies will be teaming up on the hardware and software of the N1. CyanogenMod announced earlier this week that it has formed its own company and that it would be be announcing a hardware partnership soon.
CyanogenMod is one of the most widely-adopted custom Android ROMs around, but it's also just starting out as an official company, and Oppo has been working to make a name for itself in the smartphone space. A partnership could help both firms grow quite a bit, and it'd be interesting to see what the two companies can produce when they work together.
