Many students may have recently started their summer vacation, but Apple is already getting into the Back to School mindset. This morning Apple kicked off its Back to School 2013 promotion, which offers consumers a $100 App Store gift card with the purchase of Mac hardware or a $50 gift card with the purchase of an iPad, iPad mini or iPhone. Both the current-gen iPad with Retina display and iPad 2 are eligible for the promo, as is the iPad mini. On the smartphone side of things, the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 are also all part of the new Back to School promo.
The Back to School 2013 offer kicks off today, July 2, and will run through September 6. The deal is available both online and in Apple's retail stores. In order to receive a free gift card, customers must be a college student, a student that's been accepted to college, the parent of a college student or a faculty member of a school at any grade level.
As I mentioned yesterday, none of Apple's smartphones are exactly fresh right now. For any consumers that don't feel like waiting several months for the company's next handset, though, a $50 App Store gift card could make the iPhone 4, 4S or 5 pretty tempting. While a $50 gift card may not sound like much, that amount could buy quite a few different apps, songs and other pieces of content. If you believe that you're eligible for the Back to School 2013 promo and want to snag yourself some new hardware and a gift card to go along with it, grab your credit card and hit the Apple link below to get shopping.
