The mobile payment service ISIS has been floating around for some time now, but it appears that the program may finally be ready to kick off consumer trials later this month. According to a leaked document posted by Android Central, ISIS may be planning to begin trials in both Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas, on October 22. The doc explains that a user's ISIS Wallet wil contain eligible credit cards as well as an ISIS Cash Card, which will be loaded up with a free $10 credit upon first activation.
ISIS, which is a service backed by AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and several other firms, was first announced back in November 2010. Testing was rumored to be getting underway in September, but the company was forced to delay the launch for undisclosed reasons. An announcement with details on a new trial start date is expected some time this month. If this October 22 start date holds true, we ought to be hearing more from ISIS pretty soon. Stay tuned.
