Heads up, Nexus 7 owners, because it looks like you've got an update headed your way. A bump up to Android 4.1.2 has begun rolling out to the Nexus 7, and EETimes has posted up some screenshots of the update to help provide some information on it. According to the images, the update weighs in at 31.3MB and is build number JZO54K. Included in the update are stability and performance improvements, bug fixes and the ability to rotate the Nexus 7's home screen into landscape orientation.
In addition to being pushed to the Nexus 7, Google has announced that Android 4.1.2 is being released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) today. That doesn't mean much right now for end users, but folks with an interest in Android development or tinkering may want to take note. Google's own Jean-Baptiste Queru describes it as a "minor update on top of 4.1.1."
While most of the changes listed in the Nexus 7's Android 4.1.2 update are rather vague, the inclusion of landscape support for the device's home screen sounds like it'll be a nice option to have, even if you prefer portrait.. The update is likely rolling out in batches, so don't fret too much if your Nexus 7 doesn't get its own helping of Android 4.1.2 right after you finish reading this post.
