Good news this morning for all of the NVIDIA fans out there, as the company has announced that its Icera 410 LTE multimode data modem chipset has been approved for operation on AT&T's 4G LTE network. The chipset is intended for use in tablets and clamshell devices and allows for 4G LTE connectivity at category 2 data speeds (up to 50Mbps). It also features HSPA+, 3G and 2G compatibility. "Validation with AT&T is an achievement that paves the way for NVIDIA Icera-powered LTE devices on the AT&T network through this year and next," explained Stan Boland, SVP of mobile communications at NVIDIA.
While there's no mention of anything smartphone-related in NVIDIA's announcement today, it's still good to see the company making progress in spreading its Icera-powered devices into the market. NVIDIA Icera Modem Chipset Validated on AT&T LTE Network
SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - May 24, 2012) - NVIDIA today announced that the NVIDIA® Icera® 410 LTE multimode data modem chipset for tablets and clamshell devices has been tested and validated for operation on the AT&T 4G LTE network.
