Looks like Virgin Mobile will soon be welcoming a new Android handset into its family. The Alcatel Venture has been added to Virgin Mobile's website and is now available for pre-order, with an expected ship date of March 15th. Priced at $99.99, the Venture is packing a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, 2GB microSD card and Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with Mobile ID, which is similar to Sprint's Sprint ID service. The Venture's also got a 600MHz processor and 512MB RAM under its hood.
Virgin Mobile isn't short on Android handsets with physical QWERTY keyboards thanks to the presence of the LG Optimus Slider and Samsung Intercept in its lineup, but the Venture is unique in that its hardware 'board is of the portrait variety rather than a landscape slider. If all that sounds like it'd be up your alley, you can mosey on over to Virgin Mobile's online store using the link below and plunk down your hard-earned $99.99 to pick up a Venture to bring along on ventures of your own.
UPDATE: Originally we'd heard that the Venture was made by ZTE, but the folks at Phone Scoop have learned that it's actually manufactured by Alcatel One Touch. We've updated the article to reflect that information.
