Verizon may be taking its sweet time in announcing the launch date for its Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but folks that don't feel like waiting any longer now have another option. Today it was revealed that Expansys has begun offering an unlocked version of the GSM Galaxy Nexus, which boasts pentaband HSPA — meaning you'll get 3G on both AT&T and T-Mobile — as well as 16GB of built-in storage. The privilege of owning the first Ice Cream Sandwich device before all of your Verizon buddies won't come cheap, though, as the device is priced at $749.99. But hey, there's free shipping!
Obviously this option is only meant for the Nexus-hungry folks that aren't afraid of buying a handset for full retail and aren't concerned with how upset their wallet will be with them after the transaction, but it's definitely nice to finally have the ability to purchase a Galaxy Nexus here in the U.S. As for folks pining for Verizon's LTE-enabled model, well, we're still waiting for Big Red to give us an official release date. The latest rumor is pointing toward a December 8th launch, but so many rumored dates have come and gone that it's hard to put too much stock in any new ones that crop up. We'll let you know the second that we hear an announcement from Big Red. Until then, we've got Cam's hands-on with the Galaxy Nexus embedded below to help pass the time.
