At HP's big webOS event that took place a month ago, the company mentioned that they plan to bring webOS to some of its PCs later this year. Today, though, CEO Leo Apotheker expanded on that a bit in an interview with BusinessWeek. The exec explained that HP will be putting webOS alongside Windows on all of its PCs beginning in 2012 in an attempt to attract more developers and to create a breadth of apps that can run on webOS smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc. Apotheker also hopes to focus more on product quality and innovation in the future.

Including webOS on all HP computers may sound kind of strange to some, but it'll help expose the platform to a ton of potential new users, even if only a fraction of HP's customers ever check out the webOS portion of their PC. With a small, slipping market share and only around 6,000 apps in the Catalog, webOS isn't exactly the most attractive option to devs, but I wouldn't be surprised if this news encouraged them to at least re-consider HP's platform.
