The PS5 has been extremely hard to come by lately, but if you're still looking for the new console, you'll have more opportunities soon.
Sony confirmed today that demand for the PlayStation 5 has been "unprecedented", but that more PS5 consoles will be coming to retailers before the end of 2020. Exact timing and availability wasn't given, but Sony did say to stay in contact with your retailers for more info.
We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers.

New console launches are always a big deal, but the PS5 and Xbox Series X and S have seemingly been really tough to come by. Microsoft recently said that it expects shortages of its Xbox Series X and S consoles to last until April 2021, and Sony said of the PS5 that "absolutely everything is sold."
There are likely several factors making it so difficult to find one of the new consoles. That includes the typical new console excitement as well as the holidays, people with bots planning to flip the consoles, and the ongoing pandemic.
If you've been trying to treat yourself or a loved one to a new PlayStation 5, your best bet is to keep an eye on Sony's online store as well as retailers like Walmart, Target, Gamestop, and others. While it's not known exactly when more units will become available, at least now we know that they'll be arriving sometime within the next month.
