The 6.2-inch display of the Motorola Razr 5G is one of the phone's highlight features, so much so that it actually ships with the phone open so you're greeted by that screen when you first open the box. Unless you buy your Razr from Amazon.
Amazon sells the unlocked Motorola Razr 5G, and a statement on the phone's product page says that Amazon is folding the Razr before shipping in order to "better protect the display." Amazon goes on to apologize if you see fingerprints on your Razr when you take it out of the box.
Here's the full statement explaining the matter:
"Originally, RAZR was meant to be shipped in the unfolded position. However, to better protect the display, we have folded your RAZR – it’s safer but may not look as elegant as we hoped. We apologize if you see fingerprints on your device. We assure you your RAZR is brand new."
A person who bought the Motorola Razr 5G from Amazon earlier this month left a review on the device's page, confirming that the phone had been folded and then shipped to them.
One of the fun parts of buying a new phone is taking it out of the packaging, knowing you're the first person to get your fingerprints on the device and peeling off the protective film. Because of that, it's understandable that folks who buy the Razr 5G from Amazon are a bit confused when they get their phone only to see it's fold and possibly has fingerprints on it.
If you're interested in the Motorola Razr 5G and don't care if its folded or unfolded when it's shipped to you, Amazon is now offering $405 off the unlocked Razr 5G for a limited time.
