We're now just two weeks away from the launch of the Xbox Series X and Series S, and to help those folks who are planning to buy one of the new consoles, Microsoft today posted a video that shows off their user interface and features.
The near 15-minute video shows off the Xbox Series X dashboard, complete with dynamic backgrounds. This feature is exclusive to the Xbox Series X and S and lets you choose from a different dynamic background for each color included with the system. Microsoft also says it plans to add more dynamic backgrounds in the future.
The Home screen shows off games that you've played recently, giving you quicker access to them. And the video also shows Quick Resume, one of the major new features of the new Xbox consoles that lets you instantly jump back in where you left off across multiple games.
Microsoft shows us Gears 5 running at 4K and 60 frames per second as well as Dirt 5, with both games utilizing Quick Resume. We get to see the Guide in action, which pops over your game when you press the Xbox controller's guide button and lets you quickly see your friends list, check notifications, and take a screenshot or capture a gameplay video.
You can also capture a screenshot by pressing the Share button on the Xbox controller or you can record a gameplay video by pressing and holding that button. After you've captured a screenshot or video, you can then go to the Xbox app on your phone and share that image or video to a social network.
The official walkthrough also shows off Seagate's 1TB Storage Expansion Card for the Xbox Series X and S. This small memory card plugs in to the back of the console and adds an extra terabyte of storage that works just like the console's internal storage. We can see in the video that the console instantly recognizes the expansion card as soon as it's plugged in.
The Xbox Series X and Series S will launch on November 10 for $499.99 and $299.99, respectively.
