We know a lot of the details of the Pixel 5 at this point, including its design and its specs. Two important details that had been missing were its release date and price, but now that info has been spilled, too.
The Google Pixel 5 will reportedly be available for pre-order on September 30, the same day that Google unveils it, with a launch happening October 15. That's according to Jon Prosser, who adds that the 128GB Pixel 5 will be available in Just Black and Subtle Sage colors and that it'll cost $699.
Meanwhile, Prosser says that the Pixel 4a 5G will also be available for pre-order starting September 30 but that it won't be released until November 19. That's the release date for the Just Black version of the Pixel 4a 5G, anyway, because the Clearly White version has reportedly been pushed to 2021 and may end up being canceled.
Google has already confirmed that the Pixel 4a 5G will cost $499.
The 128GB Pixel 4 is priced at $899, and so the equivalent version of the Pixel 5 could come in $200 cheaper. One thing that would help Google achieve that lower price is the choice to include a Snapdragon 765G over a Snapdragon 865 like the rumors say will happen with the Pixel 5. The 765G is still a respectable chip, though, and the Pixel 5 is expected to be improved over the Pixel 4 in several other ways, like having more RAM and a significantly larger battery.
