Google's got a new Pixel Buds update out that promises to fix a weird audio cutout bug that's been plaguing some owners.
The new Pixel Buds firmware update v552 is now rolling out, and Google says that it fixes the issue where the audio would cut out every 1 minute 50 seconds. Several Pixel Buds owners who had this issue have confirmed that the v552 update fixes the bug.
If you've got automatic updates enabled for your Pixel Buds, this new update should hit your earbuds soon. When an update is available, it'll be transferred to your Pixel Buds the next time you use them with your phone. This process takes about 10 minutes, and then the update will be installed the next time your Pixel Buds are in the charging case, a process that can take another 10 minutes.
You can see which firmware your Pixel Buds are on by going into Settings > More settings > Firmware update in your Pixel Buds app.
This is a weirdly specific bug, but it's good to see Google squash it. Some Pixel Buds owners say they're still experiencing random audio cutouts, so hopefully the next update will address that issue as well.
