Remember last year when Huawei launched a "new" P30 Pro six months after the release of the original P30 Pro? Well the P30 Pro is getting another "new" version this week.

The Huawei P30 Pro New Edition is largely the same as the original P30 Pro when it comes to specs. As noted by Android Police, there's 6.47-inch 2340x1080 OLED display and a quad rear camera array with 40MP main sensor, 20MP ultra wide cam, 8MP telephoto camera, and Time of Flight sensor. There's an octa-core Kirin 980 processor in there, too, plus a 4200mAh battery.

Huawei is offering just one RAM and storage option with this latest P30 Pro New Edition, giving the device 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. There is a new Silver Frost color option that the P30 Pro New Edition borrows from the Huawei P40, as well as Aurora and Black colors if silver's not your jam.

Perhaps most notably, the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition comes with Android 10 and EMUI 10.1, complete with Google apps. That's because the original P30 Pro was launched before Huawei was placed on the U.S. Entity List that prevents it from launching new phones running Google's Android apps. The P30 Pro New Edition also comes with Huawei's own AppGallery, which the company has been using on its new phones that can't include the Play Store.

Pre-orders for the Huawei P30 Pro New Edition are kicking off in Germany this week at a price of €749 ($813 USD) ahead of a June 1 release. The device will also be sold in the UK starting June 3 for £699, and customers who buy it there before June 30 will get a free Huawei Watch GT2e smartwatch.

Huawei makes solid Android phones and their flagships like the P30 Pro often get praise for their camera performance. Despite all that, though, a phone without Google's Android apps is a tough sell for a lot of people, which is likely part of the reason we're seeing the P30 Pro get another rerelease.A
