Samsung's big Unpacked event may not be for another couple of days, but apparently the company just couldn't wait until then to show us one of the phones it'll be announcing there.
Samsung aired a Galaxy Z Flip commercial during the Oscars awards show tonight. While the ad didn't actually call the Galaxy Z Flip by its name, we know that that's what the foldable flip phone is thanks to previous leaks.

During the ad, we're given a clear look at the Galaxy Z Flip and several of its features. Those include the foldable form factor, dual rear cameras, and the phone's ability to lock at a 90-degree angle. In this mode, the top half functions as the camera viewfinder while the bottom half has the camera controls.
We can also see a USB-C port on the bottom of the Galaxy Z Flip and the small outer display that'll likely be used for showing notifications, the time and date, and the battery level. The commercial depicts this outer display showing an incoming call and controls to let you answer or decline it.
One other notable detail of the ad is the fine print it includes. "You may notice a crease at the center of the main screen, which is a natural characteristic of the screen," the ad states.
It's kind of crazy to see Samsung reveal its next foldable smartphone two days before the big event. That said, the foldable display and flip phone form factor could help build hype for Samsung's event on Tuesday, especially since there weren't any actual details on the phone confirmed by the ad.
