After recent rumors claimed that T-Mobile CEO John Legere could become WeWork's new leader, a new report says that that won't be happening.

Legere has reportedly taken himself out of the running for the position of WeWork's new CEO. Sources speaking to CNBC says that Legere has no plans to leave T-Mobile.

The T-Mobile CEO is said to have been one of several candidates that WeWork was considering for its new CEO.

It's understandable why WeWork would want Legere as its new CEO. He's gotten a lot of credit for making T-Mobile more competitive over the past seven years through various Un-carrier moves, some of which have resulted in major changes in the U.S. wireless industry. WeWork has gone through quite a bit of drama lately, and so the company may have had its eye on Legere to help it turn things around, too.

Now Legere will be staying put at T-Mobile and continuing to work on getting the Sprint merger completed. That's sure to please a lot of folks who were concerned about what might happen with the merger if Legere wasn't there at the helm.
