The same day that Google sent out the October 2019 security update to its Pixel phones, Essential is doing the same with its device.
The Essential Phone is now receiving the October 2019 Android security patches. The update is based on Android 10 because the Essential Phone has already gotten that update, too. It's version QP1A.190711.148.
Essential has been pushing out updates to the Essential Phone the same day that Google updates its Pixels for awhile now, and that trend continues today. It's awesome to see Essential keep this up, and while the company stopped selling the Essential Phone late last year, this is great for anyone who's still using an Essential Phone. It also helps to keep folks looking forward to Essential's next phone, whatever that is and whenever it's going to launch.
