After striking partnerships with Verizon and Cricket Wireless earlier this year, HMD Global today announced that it's working with more U.S. carriers to launch Nokia smartphones.
HMD Global has partnered with AT&T Prepaid to launch the Nokia 3.1 A (shown above), which will be available at select Walmart stores on June 10th. A similar device named the Nokia 3.1 C (shown below) will launch at Cricket Wireless on June 14th.
Both phones feature a 5.45-inch HD+ screen, 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras, and 32GB of built-in storage along with a microSD card slot for adding up to 128GB of additional storage. There's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor inside the Nokia 3.1 A and 3.1 C along with 2GB of RAM and a 2990mAh battery. Both phones also include a USB-C port for charging, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio support, and Android 9 Pie.
HMD Global has been working to crank out affordable Nokia phones for customers who want a lower-cost Android phone, and the Nokia 3.1 A and 3.1 C look to continue that trend. They've got simple but clean designs as well as features that are missing from some flagship phones, like the 3.5mm headphone jack and microSD card slot.
