The 2020 Olympics may not be happening for another year, but Samsung wants to begin celebrating the games now.
Samsung has made a special Olympic Games Edition of the Galaxy S10+. It's available through NTT Docomo in Japan — which makes sense since the 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo — at a price of 114,696 yen ($1,042 USD). Samsung isn't waiting until 2020 to begin selling the phone, though, because you can reserve it now ahead of its July launch.
This Olympic Games Edition of the S10+ features a Prism White color and special "Tokyo 2020" branding on its backside. The phone comes with a pair of Samsung's Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds that also include the Tokyo 2020 branding.
Besides that special branding, this Galaxy S10+ is similar to the model that's been available for months now. It's got a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED screen, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a triple rear camera setup.
Samsung has made special Olympics versions of its Galaxy flagships in the past, so it's no surprise to see this Olympic Games Edition of the Galaxy S10+. If anything, it's more surprising that Samsung is releasing it one year before the 2020 Olympics begin, but hey, folks who are really excited for next year's Olympics have a way to celebrate them right now.
