Disney+ is getting a ton of new shows in the Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, and Pixar universes, and soon it'll be getting a price increase, too.
Disney confirmed today that it'll increase the price of Disney+ to $7.99 per month starting March 26, 2021. That's an increase of $1 from its current price and is the first price hike that Disney+ has gotten since its launch. The yearly price for Disney+ will also increase, jumping from $69.99 to $79.99 in March.
As a result of this price increase, the cost of the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ bundle will go up by $1, meaning it'll be $13.99 per month.
European customers will see their Disney+ price go up soon, too, increasing by €2 to €8.99 per month or €89.99 per year.
We regularly see streaming services raise their prices, and so it's no surprise that Disney+ is getting a price hike, too. News of this Disney+ price increase came shortly after it was announced that Disney+ would be getting 10 new Marvel series, 10 new Star Wars series, 15 new Disney and Pixar series, and 15 new Disney and Pixar features over the next few years, and it's probably safe to say that the upcoming price hike will help to pay for all those new shows.
