Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro name and charging case leaked by FCC

Hot on the heels of leak that detailed some of the new features of Samsung's next Galaxy Buds, the FCC appears to have prematurely revealed the name of the upcoming earbuds.

An FCC filing for a new Samsung device includes the name "Buds Pro", suggesting that Samsung's new Bluetooth earbuds will be called the Galaxy Buds Pro. The filing also confirms that the Buds Pro will have the model number SM-R190.

To compare, the original Galaxy Buds have the model number SM-R170, the Galaxy Buds+ have the model number SM-R175, and the Galaxy Buds Live are the SM-R180.

This FCC entry shows the bottom of the Galaxy Buds Pro charging case, too, where the FCC label will sit. The case is square with rounded corners, much like the charging case for the Galaxy Buds Live shown at the top of this post.

Rumors say that the Galaxy Buds Pro will include active noise cancellation, a feature that was missing from the original Galaxy Buds and the Buds+. The Galaxy Buds Live have ANC, but because they just sit in your ears, some have said that the Buds Live's ANC isn't great. The Galaxy Buds Pro should be better at blocking outside noise since they'll create a seal in your ear.

The Galaxy Buds Pro are also expected to feature better sound quality and an improved Ambient Mode that'll let you hear what's going on around you. The earbuds will reportedly launch alongside the Galaxy S21 in January.
