Montblanc Summit 2+ smartwatch launches at Verizon with 4G LTE and $1,170 price tag

Montblanc is one of the companies offering luxury Wear OS smartwatches, and now you can get one of them with Verizon 4G LTE built-in.

The Montblanc Summit 2+ is now available from Verizon for $1,170. You've also got the option of buying the Summit 2+ on installments so you can spread that cost out over 24 monthly payments of $48.75 each.

The specs for the Montblanc Summit 2+ include a round 1.28-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage. There's a 440mAh battery powering the Summit 2+ as well as NFC for mobile payments. And with built-in 3G and 4G connectivity, you can leave your phone at home and still receive calls and texts, stream music, and more.

Montblanc has made the case of the Summit 2+ IPx8 water resistant so it can stand up to rain and sweat. There's heart rate tracking for your workouts, stress level monitoring, and a Workout Coach app that'll recommend personalized exercises and automatically adjust to your pace and training intensity. Also included is an Outdoor Toolbox app with a built-in compass, speedometer, altimeter, GPS, and barometer.

Finally, the Summit 2+ features a 43.5m pure steel case, sapphire cover glass, and swappable straps. The watch runs Google's Wear OS and is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices.

One perk of Wear OS is that it's available on a variety of watches from lots of different companies, much like Android. This means there are many options for consumers in the market for a Wear OS watch. Models like the Montblanc Summit 2+ cater to folks who want a luxury watch, and while it's a little disappointing to see this model have the older Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor rather than the new Snapdragon Wear 4100 chip, it is good to see people who want a luxury smartwatch have this option available.
