iOS 14.1 update released by Apple with a bevy of bug fixes

One month after the launch of iOS 14, Apple today released an update to iOS 14.1 that brings with it lots of improvements and bug fixes.

The update to iOS 14.1 appears to be largely focused on squashing bugs that've been discovered since iOS 14 was released to the public. Apple says that it's fixed an issue where some widgets, folders, and icons were appearing at a reduced size on the Home screen, as well as a bug where dragging widgets on your Home screen could remove apps from folders.

Other bug fixes included with iOS 14.1 include a fix for an issue that could prevent zeroes from appearing in the Calculator app, a bug where streaming video resolution could be temporarily reduced at the start of playback, and an issue that could prevent setting up a family member's Apple Watch.

Today's update also brings with it a new feature. iOS 14.1 adds support for 10-bit HDR video playback and editing in the Photos app on the iPhone 8 and later. It's also available on the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (2nd generation) and later, iPad Pro 11-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, iPad Air (3rd generation) and later, and the iPad mini (5th generation).

To download iOS 14.1 or iPadOS 14.1, grab your iPhone or iPad and then launch the Settings app. From there, tap "General" followed by "Software Update" and your device will check to see if this update is available to download.

While you wait to install iOS 14.1 on your device, you can peruse the update's full changelog below.
