After bringing its TCL 10 Pro and TCL 10L smartphones to the US earlier this year, TCL is now launching its first tablet in North America, too.

The TCL Tab is launching today at Verizon. Like TCL's phones, the 4G LTE-enabled Tab is focused on affordability, coming in with a price tag of $8.33 per month for 24 months or $199.99 full retail price.

Its spec list includes an 8-inch 1920x1080, 8MP rear and 5MP front cameras, and a 5500mAh battery that'll last you 17 hours wiht mixed use. Fast charging over USB-C is supported by the TCL Tab and it's also capable of On-The-Go Reverse Charging, letting you use the tablet as a power bank to recharge a phone, smartwatch, or other compatible device.

There's a fingerprint reader built into the power button on the side of the TCL Tab, letting you register up to five fingerprints that you can use to quickly launch your favorite apps. An octa-core Snapdragon 665 is packed inside the TCL Tab's body along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and a microSD card slot enables you to add up to 256GB of additional storage.

TCL has included a 3.5mm headphone jack with the Tab, a feature that we don't see a lot of on phones or tablets anymore, and the Tab comes preloaded with Android 10. TCL is pledging to give the Tab at least one major Android OS update as well as quarterly security patches for a minimum of two years.

Adding cellular connectivity to a tablet can add a premium to its price, even if its not packing super high-end specs. The TCL Tab aims to keep its price affordable while packing in 4G LTE support and its the lowest cost tablet in Verizon's lineup, so it could be a solid option for families who need entertainment on-the-go or someone who wants a tablet-sized screen for getting online anywhere but doesn't want to pay a bunch for it.
