Google's upcoming Android TV-powered Chromecast has leaked out quite a few times in the past, including images and pricing rumors. But today we're getting our best look yet at the upcoming device.
The new Chromecast has been revealed in official-looking renders, complete with its accompanying remote. Rumors have said the device is codenamed "Sabrina" and could come to market as the "Google Chromecast with Google TV".
The images from WinFuture show an oval-shaped device with a Google "G" logo and a short cable with an HDMI connector on the end. The remote is small and pill-shaped with what looks to be a d-pad for navigation, a favorites button that you can assign a shortcut to, plus dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and YouTube.
This upcoming Google Chomecast with Google TV also has a status LED and a reset button on its backside. On the bottom is a USB-C port to provide power to the device.
Inside the device is said to be a quad-core AMLogic S905X2 chipset with 2GB of RAM.
Google is hosting an event on September 30 where it's expected we'll get official announcements for the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, a new Nest smart speaker, and this Chromecast device. Past leaks have suggested that Google's new Chromecast powered by Android TV/Google TV could cost $50, making it a low-cost way to add smarts to your TV.
