Xbox Series S and $299 price confirmed by Microsoft as more features leak out

A lot has happened with the Xbox Series S in the past 12 hours or so, and now this short saga is wrapping up with a confirmation from Microsoft.

The Xbox Series S has been confirmed by Microsoft following leaks that revealed the design and price of the console. Speaking of price, that's also been confirmed by Microsoft as being $299.

"Looking forward to sharing more! Soon. Promise," Microsoft said in a tweet from its official Xbox account.

We don't have to wait for more info, though, as another promo video has leaked out that's confirmed a few more details of the Xbox Series S. Shared by Twitter user WalkingCat, the video reveals that the Xbox Series S is the smallest Xbox ever, coming in at nearly 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X.

The promo video also confirms that the Xbox Series S will offer an "all-digital experience", meaning there's no disc drive in the console. What is inside is custom 512GB NVME for storage and performance that'll let you game at up to 1440p resolution and frame rates up to 120fps. DirectX raytracing will be supported, too, along with 4K streaming media playback and 4K upscaling for games.

So now that the design and price of the Xbox Series S have been confirmed, what do you think of Microsoft's more affordable next-gen console?
