Microsoft continues to confirm details about its Xbox Series S consoles following several leaks that've come out over the past 12 hours.
An official Xbox Series S trailer has just been shared by Microsoft that confirms the next-gen console will launch on November 10. Pricing will be set at $299.
Microsoft has not yet confirmed the launch date or pricing for the higher-end Xbox Series X, but rumors say that it'll launch on November 10, too, with a price of $499.
Getting back to the Xbox Series S, the official trailer confirms that the console is the smallest Xbox ever, measuring nearly 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X.
Packed inside that small body is a custom 512GB NVME SSD and performance that'll support 1440p resolution at up to 120fps. The console is "all-digital", meaning there's no disc drive for physical games, and support for DirectX raytracing and 4K upscaling for games is included, too. Streaming media playback at up to 4K resolution will be supported as well.
While the Xbox Series S may not be as powerful as the Xbox Series X — rumors say the cheaper model will have less RAM and around 4 teraflops of performance rather than the X's 12 — it's looking like the Xbox Series S could be a pretty great device for some consumers. That includes folks who don't care about 4K gaming and those who just want a cheap way to get in on the next generation of console gaming.
